Changing and Creating TomTom Voices

You’ve had your TomTom for awhile now and that navigational voice is starting to get on your nerves - making your driving experience less than enjoyable and filling you full of the dreaded symptom known as Road Rage.

Just in case you’re looking to modify a Garmin GPS voice file you can read about how to do that here: Change Your Garmin GPS Voice

Step back for a moment and drag that GPS device into your house. You can give it a little operation and change the voice into one that’s (more…)

Have GPS - GO TRAVEL!

It really hurts me to think that people use their GPS just to go back and forth to work everyday or to find the closest Starbucks Coffee shop. What a terrible waste of technology that kind of usage is.

If you have a GPS you just have to use it to explore more than your own backyard, to mark your house as a waypoint or your girlfriend’s place as a point of interest on the map. Take that girl on a cruise or go to Hawaii with her and show her how you can justify having such powerful technology in the palm of your hand.

Travelocity always has great prices on travel and here is some of their latest deals that will get your GPS all hot and bothered.

  • Visit Travelocity for all your European Vacation destinations and Package deals

  • $75 Off Last Minute Packages to Mexico - COUPON CODE: MEX75OFF

  • Visit Travelocity for Hawaii Vacation Deals

  • Paradise Found: Caribbean Hotels from $98

  • Do more, See More: Alaska Cruisetours!

  • Keep your GPS and yourself entertained - you can thank it later. Enjoy all the travel and don’t forget to take lots of pictures so you can GeoTag them and show your friends or family just how smart you really are.

Free GPS Tracking Service and Software

Quoox GPS Tracker is a free service to live-track any kind of GPS device. The only thing needed is a device which has the capability to upload its’ current GPS data to the Quoox Tracker Service.

The tracking service at this time supports the Pocket PC 2003/SE, Windows Mobile 5 and the Windows Mobile 6 operating systems with their own software or you can purchase a copy of the MaspWare GPSMeter program (3rd party).

The service is completely free for private use and it’s also really easy to use. Just register your own unique tracker id, it’s almost as simple as that. Use any client software with you device and start tracking!

When everything is up and running you can track the position of the GPS device using a simple and familiar Google Earth Web Interface on the Quoox Web Site.

Help the World with a GPS and OpenStreetMap

If you own a GPS device there’s a great way that you can help the world and have some fun doing it too.

There’s still a lot of roads out there in the world that aren’t easily available on the internet these days and you can help get them available. You’d think that having all the roads in the world mapped and available on the internet is something that just happens by itself but it seems to not be the case.

Finding a Lost GPS or Cellular with GPS

I’ve noticed a lot of people on the internet that are looking to find their lost cell phone with GPS capability or their GPSs that might have been stolen out of their car.

Since there’s so much interest in this subject I though that I would just let all those that are interest to know - that there is no way to track a stolen GPS.

A GPS receives signals from satellites (there are about (more…)

    Learn Quick About GPS

Everybody goes out once in awhile and buys a device that’s just a little bit above their head. They usually end up with a less than enjoyable experience from the device and might even feel a bit cheated.

I like to get the most out of the hardware that I buy. For me to do that I need to understand the concepts behind how the device works. Once I’ve studied and I understand the device better I usually find that I get much more enjoyment out of it.
